Job Board drug-testing-news advertise-with-us1

More and more employers are outsourcing occupational health services, including drug and alcohol testing.  This means the lines between federal regulations and medical procedures become blurred, making it difficult to separate the two. In this session, we will educate attendees on the differences between a forensic testing procedure, such as a DOT alcohol or drug test, and a medical procedure.  There is common misconception in the industry, particularly in large healthcare systems, that just because the test is performed in a medical facility means it is a medical procedure and therefore must comply with HIPAA.  This is simply not true.  The presentation will include best practices, record-keeping, and cultivating a “defensible” or “forensic” mindset rather than a “medical” mindset while performing DOT tests.
